Artists, often cash-strapped, are used to practicing their skills in unglamorous spaces. For nearly seven decades, that’s been the case in St. Paul, where generations of ballet dancers sweated and toiled to create beauty above a hardware store. MORE>

You’re Invited

Join us in celebrating and saying farewell to our Grand Avenue studio. Raise a glass to 68 years of classical ballet in St. Paul! St. Paul Ballet is hosting events to honor the history and artists of the “studio above the hardware store.” We hope you can join us.

Thursday, August 11 – Class with Marius Andaházy
10:00am-11:30am, Grand Avenue Studio
Small reception after class

Saturday, August 20 – Class with Marius Andaházy
10:00am-12:15pm, Grand Avenue Studio
Pot luck lunch after class. Please bring a dish to share!
Suggested donation of $20.00 for each class. No SPB class cards accepted.
Marius and Krisztina Andaházy have requested all proceeds go to beloved teacher Karen Paulson Rivet and her daughter Brianna Rivet.

Grand Studio Silent Auction Week

August 20-26
A limited number studio items will be up for auction including furniture, frames,
pieces of the barre and more. Make bids on items throughout the week.
Auction winners will be notified and be able to take home their
piece of history on Saturday, August 27.
The Grand Studio will be open 6:00pm-8:00pm throughout this week to place your bid!

11:30am – Parade to Fairview Avenue Studio
Join us for a 1.7 mile walk up Fairview Avenue!
Walk, run or grand jeté your way to the next 68 years of ballet in St. Paul!

12:00pm-4:00pm – Open House and Health Fair at Fairview Avenue Studio
Register for fall term classes, take a free mini-class, speak with
health professionals at the health fair, find some new and gently used
dance wear and costumes at our garage sale, meet SPB faculty and more!
