The School of St. Paul Ballet

We strive to create a nurturing environment in which the student’s individual development is supported.

Children: Teachers provide a nurturing environment where each child can develop according to their potential. Terminology and basic steps are introduced.

Teens and Adults: Classes are designed for students who wish to begin or continue dance training for health, recreation or self-enrichment. Students are encouraged to grow as an individual artist and to participate at their own pace. Classes are taught by teachers dedicated to the growth and fostering of ballet as an art form and believe dance contributes to a healthy lifestyle. Classes emphasize overall body conditioning and encourage an aesthetic appreciation of dance.  All classes are accompanied by professional musicians who collaborate with our teachers just as in our pre-professional program and for our professional dancers.

Our drop-in program allows students a flexible schedule that meets the needs of both the working professional and busy student. Call, email or drop by the studio during out business hours to learn more.

Pre-Professional: The program provides students with exceptional clarity and strength while encouraging a life-long love of dance and healthy body image. Live accompaniment, enrichment in modern and character dance along with promotion of health and well-being complete the training.

Students enrolled in the pre-professional program build the foundation for college-level programs, conservatory or a professional career. Over 100 students each year are trained in the Vaganova-based progressive curriculum augmented by modern dance and other genres to create the well-rounded dancer. The training is divided into levels appropriate to the age, maturity and dance expertise of each student. Auditions are required for placement and progressive advancement is based on strength, physical development and mastery.
