Summer Study weeks offer serious female and male students, a highly concentrated curriculum in classical ballet and modern training with accomplished faculty and acclaimed guest artists.

At St. Paul Ballet each student’s individual development is supported through our nurturing environment. It is our passion to develop students for success in performing their best as artists, physically and emotionally. Students will learn techniques that reflect the diversity and range required by major American ballet companies today.

Find your own voice.
Show your best self.
Blur the line between class and performance.

Summer dance is traditionally a time to work intensively in developing technique and artistry. Students come to class during the day when they are not as tired from everyday activities, including school and can focus entirely on their training.

At St. Paul Ballet, we knew this summer would be different. The 2020-21 school-year, with its closings and openings and in-person and virtual classes due to the pandemic, challenged the dancers both technically and emotionally. In spite of these disruptions dancers adapted with grace, style, resilience and joy.

The Summer Study program was created to continue a healthy progression of in-person classes so students may improve faster and still explore a variety of dynamic classes to expand each dancer’s movement vocabulary.

Dive in with our stellar staff and guest teachers accompanied by live musicians to gain strength and flexibility and learn techniques that reflect the diversity and range required by major dance companies today.

Summer Study is offered in 4-week sessions (with one flex-week) for middle and upper level dancers in our three new spacious air-conditioned studios.

It is our passion to develop students for success as artists physically and emotionally. Each student is supported, nurtured and given the tools to express their love of dance!
