“Parent and Me” Dance Classes Ages 2.5-4 |  Hablamos Español

We invite you to St. Paul Ballet’s “Parent and Me” dance class, for our young dancers ages 2.5-4 and their parents! “Parent and Me” is one of our most popular classes, register today!
Enjoy and explore the fundamentals of movement, music and rhythm in this developmentally appropriate class. Young dancers will be engaged through artistic body and brain connection through the joy of movement. Teacher: Mary Coats

Ready, Steady, Go! Age 4  One 45-minute lesson per week for the semester. Semester 1: Sep 5-Dec 15. Register and pay by Sept. 5, 2018.
Semester 2: Jan 9- May 4. Register and pay by Jan. 9, 2019.

NOTE: Holiday break December 23, 2018-January 6, 2019

This is a developmentally appropriate dance class for 4 year olds emphasizing movement and musicality. The young dancer will have fun with skills learned through rhyme and rhythm. Teaching Artist: Mary Coats

Dance Fundamentals: Age 5-6 Wednesdays or Saturdays One 1-hour lesson per week for the semester. Semester 1: Sep 5-Dec 15. Register and pay by Sept. 5, 2018. Semester 2: Jan 9- May 4. Register and pay by Jan. 9, 2019.

NOTE: Holiday break December 23, 2018-January 6, 2019

This is a developmentally appropriate dance class for 5-6 year olds. Dancers gain strength, flexibility, self confidence and are encouraged to create in collaboration with others. Teaching Artist: Mary Coats

Level 1 Ballet Age 9+

(Must be age 9 by September 1, 2018) Two lessons per week for the school year.

Introductory ballet technique according to a Vaganova-based curriculum, with a focus on developing movement vocabulary. Classes include introduction to modern which is essential in nurturing versatility and growth in creativity and workshop which allows the appropriate time to prepare and rehearse choreography for performances.

Level 2 Ballet Age 10+ Two lessons per week for the school year.

Continuation of ballet technique according to a Vaganova-based curriculum, with a focus on increased strength, stamina, flexibility, and coordination. Classes include modern which is essential in nurturing versatility and growth in creativity and workshop which allows the appropriate time to prepare and rehearse choreography for performances. Boys’ Club (Ages 7-11) Intro to ballet conditioning, flexibility and technique particular to male dancers. Plenty of jumping and strength exercises.

Tuition payments:

Tuition payments are due before the start of classes for the year the first week of classes September 5-8, 2018.

For convenience, tuition may be paid by semesters or monthly (please contact the Administrative Assistant at 651-690-1588).

  • 2 Semester payments: September 5-8, 2018 and January 6, 2019 by cash, check or credit card.
  • 9 Monthly payments: due on the same day each month. Arrange at registration.
  • NOTE: A 2% processing fee will be added to all credit card transactions.
  • NOTE: Entire tuition MUST be paid before the Spring Showcase in May 2019 for student to be able to participate in the performance.

Sibling discount: 5% on the lower tuition for Children’s program  |  10% on the lower tuition for Pre-professional program

NOTE: Students continue in their same class and level unless the School Director recommends a change in level placement or they have formally withdrawn.

  1. Performance fee: In October 2018, a $40 fee will be assessed for students participating in the holiday show. In February of 2019, a $40 fee will be assessed for Beg.-Level 6 and a $25 fee for Young Dancers participating in the Spring Showcase. This fee helps defray the costs for cleaning/repair/replacement of costumes in SPB’s inventory.
  2. Volunteer requirement: Parents/guardians of semester or full-term students have the option of volunteering a minimum of 4 hours per semester during performance production weeks or paying a fee of $100 per semester.

Volunteer opportunities:  Help support the ballet through volunteering at performances and events. Sign up with the Administrative Assistant.

Performances:
Holiday performances of Clara’s Dream 2018 for students Levels Beginning Ballet-6 for students enrolled full-time in the SPB School. Performances Nov 30-Dec 2, 2018 at The O’Shaughnessy in St. Paul.

Spring Showcase: A Celebration of Our Students May TBD. Tickets on sale in March 2019. This performance is for participation by all students.
