Stephanie Moffett-Hugg, Ballet and Young Children’s Instructor
Stephanie grew up throughout the east coast but calls Columbus, New Jersey her home. She began as a swimmer and gymnast before transitioning into the pre-professional ballet program with Hamilton Ballet Theater, under the direction of Julie Caprio. As a student, Stephanie attended various summer programs, as well as regularly taking classes at Steps on Broadway in New York, New York.
At 16, Stephanie began her professional career as a soloist with Baltimore Ballet Company, she then went on to dance for Redlands Festival Ballet, Mystic Ballet, Wonderbound and is currently a member of James Sewell Ballet. Some of her most memorable performances were the Stadttheater of Bremmerhaven’s 2015 Ballet Gala, Vail Dance Festival’s 2017 night of dance, Jacobs Pillow Dance Festival in 2014, and various performances in Colorado alongside the Colorado Symphony and Baroque Chamber Orchestra.
Stephanie began teaching at 17, and has enjoyed teaching within the Royal Academy of Dance syllabus at the beginning of her teaching career, beyond that, Stephanie has held the position of director of the primary division at Mystic Ballet School, coached variations for Youth American Grand Prix, taught various ballet, pointe, contemporary and neo-classical master classes, and choreographed a contemporary piece for James Sewell Ballet’s Big Sky Summer Intensive.
Stephanie is thrilled to be part of the teaching staff at St.Paul Ballet and looks forward to a beautiful year of dancing ahead!
