Carmen is an original ballet by Artistic Director Zoé Emilie Henrot with music after Bizet’s original, arranged with new sections by local artist Richard Erickson. Inspired by Georges Bizet’s original score and the story of the opera, SPB’s Carmen will bring the characters and storyline into a different era. With new sets designed my Anne Henly, imaginative costumes by MaryBeth Gagner and a live five-piece jazz band on stage with the Company, see the electric energy of the 1920s spring to life in St. Paul Ballet’s Carmen.
