Children’s Drop-In Classes


If you are wondering if your child would enjoy dance these classes are for you. Buy a single class or a Class-pack of 4 lessons to save.

NEW! Baby-Wearing Ballet Parent and Infant Our Baby-Wearing Ballet class at St. Paul Ballet gives parents and caregivers the chance to bond with baby while getting exercise! This beginning level ballet class offers abdominal work and stretching, followed by a ballet barre and center exercises to music, while wearing baby in your carrier. Feeding and diaper changing is welcome! It is recommended that new mothers talk with their doctor at their six week postpartum appointment to be sure they can safely participate in class. All caregivers are welcome to participate in class.

What to wear:
Please bring your own developmentally appropriate baby carrier that has two shoulder straps to class, wear comfortable, stretchy clothing, and ballet shoes. Socks are permitted if it is your first time in class.


“Parent and Me” Dance Classes Ages 2.5-4 |  Hablamos Español

We invite you to St. Paul Ballet’s “Parent and Me” dance class, for our young dancers ages 2.5-4 and their parents! “Parent and Me” was our most popular class this summer, register today!

Enjoy and explore the fundamentals of movement, music and rhythm in this developmentally appropriate class. Young dancers will be engaged through artistic body and brain connection through the joy of movement.

What to wear:
Clothing that allows for fluid movement and stretching. Bare feet.


Dance Expressions Ages 4-6 This creative movement class will allow students to explore their imaginations by moving their bodies through space. Young dancers will have the ability to play, explore and dance using various movement concepts to expand their range of motion in a fun, imaginative manner. As dancers become more confident in using their bodies in a variety of ways, introductory technique will be implemented into the curriculum to further accustom themselves in dancing different ways with an air of comfort, discovery, and enjoyment.

Saturdays 8:45-9:30am 4 – 6 (Must be 4 by start of class)

$34 for 4-class pack OR $66 for 8-class pack (no registration fee; cards are good for 3 months from purchase) Single class $9.00

What to wear:
Comfortable clothes, not baggy, bare feet. Dancers may wear leotards and tights and ballet slippers if desired.
OR may wear biker-type shorts and t-shirt if desired. Longer hair pulled back away from face; ponytail, bun or other. 


Intro to Ballet Ages 7-12 Are you seeking a flexible ballet class option for your child? This class is for dancers who are ages 7-12 who have little to no ballet experience. Classes will cover the basics of ballet and are designed to give children the foundation for moving into the Leveled Program of the SPB School if desired. This class is optimal cross-training for children who also study complimentary arts, such as theater, circus, Irish dance, gymnastics, figure skating or other sports.

Saturdays 11:45am-12:45pm 7- 12 (Must be 7 by start of class) Class starts on October 28, 2017

Girls-Leotard, pink tights, pink ballet slippers. Longer hair pulled back away from face; pony tail, bun or other.
Boys-White shirt, black shorts or pants, white socks, black or white ballet slippers. Longer hair pulled back away from face; pony tail, bun or other.


Boys’ Club (Ages 7-11) Intro to ballet conditioning, flexibility and technique particular to male dancers. Plenty of jumping and strength exercises.

Sibling discount: $4 off a class-pack for each additional sibling.

Performances: In studio showings for parents will be scheduled by the instructor in December and May.

Location and Parking: 655 Fairview Avenue Studios, just three blocks north of the Fairview-University Greenline Stop. Also on busline. Unlimited FREE parking in the front lot and along the entire length of the warehouse portion of the complex.
