Pre-Professional Full Term Program


The curriculum provides professional training in classical ballet based on the Vaganova method. All classes are accompanied by accomplished pianists. Advancement is determined by the students’ progress in developing technical skills, strength, and artistry. Parental support is encouraged.

Dance wear Order Form 2018-19


New students ages 11-18: Please contact Laura Greenwell lgreenwell@spballet.org to arrange a placement class for the pre-professional division.
The class will include technique (Level 3) and pointe (Level 4-6), and will be observed by the teacher. Female dancers should wear a black or solid color leotard, pink footed tights, pink ballet slippers and pointe shoes, if applicable, and hair in a neat and firm bun in back middle of head. Male dancers should wear a fitted white tee shirt, black tights and black ballet slippers.

Families with dancers age 10 and younger please contact Laura Greenwell lgreenwell@spballet.org to arrange a placement class in the Children’s Program.



Level 3 Three required days per week.

Continuation of ballet technique. Classes include modern which is is essential in nurturing versatility and growth in creativity and workshop which allows the appropriate time to introduce classical repertoire and rehearse choreography for performances.

Classes include pointe three times per week, modern which is is essential in nurturing versatility and growth in creativity, and workshop which allows the appropriate time to introduce classical repertoire and rehearse choreography for performances.

Tuition payments:

Tuition payments are due before the start of classes for the year on September 5, 2018.

For convenience, tuition may be paid by semesters or monthly (please contact the Studio Administrator at 651-690-1588).

  • 2 Semester payments: September 5, 2018 and January 9, 2019 by cash, check or credit card.
  • 9 Monthly payments: due on the same day each month. Arrange at registration.
  • NOTE: A 2% processing fee will be added to all credit card transactions.
  • NOTE: Entire tuition MUST be paid before the Spring Showcase in May 2019 for student to be able to participate in the performance.

Sibling discount: 5% on the lower tuition for Children’s program  |  10% on the lower tuition for Pre-professional program

NOTE: Students continue in their same class and level unless the School Director recommends a change in level placement.

  1. Performance fee: In October 2018, a $40 fee will be assessed for students participating in the holiday show. In February of 2019, a $40 fee will be assessed for Beg.-Level 6 and a $25 fee for Young Dancers participating in the Spring Showcase. This fee helps defray the costs for cleaning/repair/replacement of costumes in SPB’s inventory.
  2. Volunteer requirement: Parents/guardians of semester or full-term students have the option of volunteering a minimum of 4 hours per semester during performance production weeks or paying a fee of $100 per semester.

Volunteer opportunities:  Help support the ballet through volunteering at performances and events. Sign up with the Studio Manager.

Performance Opportunities:
Holiday performances of Clara’s Dream 2018 for students Levels Beginning Ballet-6 for students enrolled full-time in the SPB School. Performances Dec 2018 at The O’Shaughnessy in St. Paul.

Spring Showcase: A Celebration of Our Students May 2019. Tickets on sale in March 2019. This performance is for participation by all students.
