The School of St. Paul Ballet offers drop in classes and summer camps all summer long. Join us in the studio this summer, whether you are just beginning your dance journey or continuing your dance education. Just register with your information online and then call or stop in to complete payment.

Ages 2-1/2 to 4 years:

“Parent and Me” Dance Classes |  Hablamos Español

We invite you to St. Paul Ballet’s “Parent and Me” dance class, for our young dancers ages 2.5-4 and their parents! “Parent and Me” was our most popular class this summer, register today!

Enjoy and explore the fundamentals of movement, music and rhythm in this developmentally appropriate class. Young dancers will be engaged through artistic body and brain connection through the joy of movement.

Fridays 10:00-10:45am Summer Session: July 6, 13, 20, 27 and August 3 $45
Saturdays 8:45-9:30am Summer Session: July 7, 14, 21, 28 and August 4 $45

One Session = 5 classes

What to wear:
Clothing that allows for fluid movement and stretching. Bare feet.



Ages 4-7 years:

Preschool Dance! Ages 4-5

This is a developmentally appropriate dance class for 4 and 5 year olds emphasizing movement and musicality. The young dancer will have fun with skills learned through rhyme and rhythm and dance patterns.

Paddington Bear Dance Camp, Ages 4-6 (PreK-Kindergarten)

Boys and girls dance and learn in this fun Paddington-themed Camp! Dance Camp will include an age-appropriate, dance concepts and many fun Paddington activities! Explore the travels of this loveable bear from Peru to London. Please send a small snack and water bottle. The dancers will share excerpts of their work in an informal showing for family and friends on the last day of class.

What to wear:
Girls: Clothing that allows for fluid movement and stretching including dance clothes such as leotards, footless tights, dance skirts, etc., t-shirts, leggings, bare feet or ballet shoes.

Boys: sweat pants/shorts, fitted t-shirt, bare feet or socks and ballet slippers.


K/1st Grade Dance! Ages 6-7

This is a developmentally appropriate dance class for 6 and 7 year olds. Dancers gain strength, flexibility, self-confidence and are encouraged to create in collaboration with others.

Dance Expressions Ages 4-6: Drop-in Classes

This creative movement class will allow students to explore their imaginations by moving their bodies through space. Young dancers will have the ability to play, explore and dance using various movement concepts to expand their range of motion in a fun, imaginative manner. As dancers become more confident in using their bodies in a variety of ways, introductory technique will be implemented into the curriculum to further accustom themselves in dancing different ways with an air of comfort, discovery, and enjoyment. Class begins June 9, 2018.

Saturdays 8:45-9:30am 4 – 6 (Must be 4 by start of class)

$34 for 4-class pack OR $66 for 8-class pack (no registration fee; cards are good for 3 months from purchase) Single class $9.00

What to wear:
Comfortable clothes, not baggy, bare feet. Dancers may wear leotards and tights and ballet slippers if desired.
OR may wear biker-type shorts and t-shirt if desired. Longer hair pulled back away from face; ponytail, bun or other.



 Ages 5-11 years:

Dance, Art and Yoga Camp, Ages 5-8 (1st-3rd Grade)

Dance, Art, and Yoga Camp invites children to explore engaging concepts through visual arts, music, stories, dance and yoga. This fun-filled camp includes hands-on art activities which directly connect to the dance concept explored during a creative dance class, story stretching moments with yoga, and parent-provided snack. Dancers and artists will share their creativity with family and friends in an informal presentation on the last day of camp.

Cinderella Dance Camp, Ages 6-9 (1st-3rd Grade)

Have fun exploring, dancing, and experiencing the story of Cinderella. Dance Camp will include an age-appropriate, dance-concept based ballet class each day and many fun activities! Your dancer will engage with the music from the musical/ballet and explore the differing characters with our choreography lab.   We will read stories, watch performance videos, and create props to accompany our dances. Please send a small snack and water bottle. The dancers will share excerpts of their work in an informal showing for family and friends on the last day of class.

 Boy’s Club Camp! One week only Ages 6-11 CANCELED

Description: This summer boys in Boy’s Club Camp! will explore the dynamic strength and artistry of ballet, conditioning and technique particular to male dancers. With dance from teachers of St. Paul Ballet and conditioning from fitness trainers of Element Gym, your boy will celebrate male roles, jumping, education and art.

What to wear:

Boys-Exercise pants or shorts (or boys ballet tights), fitted t-shirt, socks, workout/tennis shoes for conditioning and ballet slippers for dance.



Ages 7-12 years:

Intro to Ballet Ages 7-12: Drop-in Classes

Are you seeking a flexible ballet class option for your child? This class is for dancers who are ages 7-12 who have little to no ballet experience. Classes will cover the basics of ballet and are designed to give children the foundation for moving into the Leveled Program of the SPB School if desired. This class is optimal cross-training for children who also study complimentary arts, such as theater, circus, Irish dance, gymnastics, figure skating or other sports.

Beginning Ballet Camp, Ages 7-8

Introduction to the basics of ballet vocabulary and technique, traditional structure and etiquette of the ballet class, and creative movement. Live piano accompaniment.
Parents: If you would like to see if your child might enjoy this week-long camp we recommend our Intro to Ballet drop-in classes in June and July. Your first drop-in class as a new student is free!

Level 1 Ballet, Ages 9+

Introductory ballet technique according to a Vaganova-based curriculum, with a focus on developing movement vocabulary. Live piano accompaniment.

Level 2 Ballet & Modern, Ages 10+

Continuation of ballet technique according to a Vaganova-based curriculum, with a focus on increased strength, stamina, flexibility, and coordination. Classes include modern which is essential in nurturing versatility and growth in creativity. Live piano accompaniment.
