To protect the health and well-being of everyone we serve and our staff, St. Paul Ballet has moved and extended spring break to two weeks March 16-27, 2020 to help slow the spread of the virus. We are following the recommendations of the MN Department of Health and the Governor’s Office and will keep you informed about restarting classes following the break

We remain committed to equity and inclusiveness, especially for those who are marginalized, and understand that the pandemic will hit some in our community harder than others. Closures of non-profits have a profound effect on the financial health of artists and children in our programs.

Our organization is a non-profit and our staff are hourly employees. Their contribution to the vitality of our lives is hard to quantify: beautiful movement and music sparks our imaginations, gives us meaning, helps us understand our world and gives us great personal satisfaction.

We will be checking voicemail and email over the break and taking registrations for summer. Thank you for your support as we navigate uncertainty together!

If you would like to join St. Paul Ballet, please give send us an email to talk with the school director and schedule placement

Pre-professional Upper & Lower Schools

Pre-Professional: The program provides students with exceptional clarity and strength while encouraging a life-long love of dance and healthy body image. Live accompaniment, enrichment in modern and character dance along with promotion of health and well-being complete the training.

Students enrolled in the pre-professional program build the foundation for college-level programs, conservatory or a professional career. Over 100 students each year are trained in the Vaganova-based progressive curriculum augmented by modern dance and other genres to create the well-rounded dancer. The training is divided into levels appropriate to the age, maturity and dance expertise of each student. Auditions are required for placement and progressive advancement is based on strength, physical development and mastery.

New students ages 11-18: If you’d like to join the School of St. Paul Ballet pre-professional division, please set up a placement class by contacting the School Director at:  or 651-690-1588.

Teens and Adults

Teens and Adults: Classes are designed for students who wish to begin or continue dance training for health, recreation or self-enrichment. Students are encouraged to grow as an individual artist and to participate at their own pace. Classes are taught by teachers dedicated to the growth and fostering of ballet as an art form and believe dance contributes to a healthy lifestyle. Classes emphasize overall body conditioning and encourage an aesthetic appreciation of dance.  All classes are accompanied by professional musicians who collaborate with our teachers just as in our pre-professional program and for our professional dancers.

Our drop-in program allows students a flexible schedule that meets the needs of both the working professional and busy student. Call, email or drop by the studio during out business hours to learn more.
