December 10 & 11, 2021: Best of The Nutcracker performances
Best of The Nutcracker performances were filmed and edited by Caitlin Hammel, Twin Cities filmmaker.
St. Paul Ballet created a special edition for our return to the stage after 18 months of the pandemic, the Best of The Nutcracker featuring crowd favorites by Lirena Branitski including the Kingdom of the Snow from Act 1, as well as Spanish, Russian, and Waltz of Flowers from the Kingdom of Sweets along with new gems from choreographers Helen Hatch and Da’Rius Malone and coaching from all of SPB’s teaching artists. The dancers are joined by two of the talented musicians who accompany dance classes throughout the year.
This intimate jewel of a concert was lovingly designed for the in-person audience as we all returned to the theater. In just under an hour, without intermission, it is a perfect way to introduce children to the power and beauty of dance.
