INTRO TO ELEMENTARY BALLET SUMMER age 7-8 by Jul 15, 2026.
JUNIOR LEVELS 1-2:
INTRO TO LEVEL 1 BALLET SUMMER. Pre-requisite: Age 9 and one full year of Elementary Ballet or Level 1 Ballet at St. Paul Ballet.
INTRO TO LEVEL 2 BALLET SUMMER. Pre-requisite: Age 10 and one to two full years of Level 1 or 2 Ballet at St. Paul Ballet.

INTRO TO ELEMENTARY BALLET SUMMER
Age 7 & 8 by Jul 15, 2026 and age 9 for dancers new to ballet. No experience necessary!
Tuition $84
This Classical Ballet Technique class is for dancers 7-9 years-old who are new to ballet, have not danced since a very young age or SPB Pre-Ballet dancers who are now age 7. Class includes an introduction to the basics of ballet vocabulary and technique, structure and etiquette of the ballet class, and creative movement for individual expression.

What to wear?
Female identifying:
Elementary leotard: Where your favorite leotard for this summer introductory class. No skirts. Underwear is not worn under tights and leotard.
Tights-footed: Where your favorite solid color tights for this introductory class. (NOTE: If you are purchasing new tights and shoes for fall classes they should match in color.) Students may choose the color which is closest to their natural skin tone or pink (translucent matte tights, not shiny or lycra).
Technique shoes (soft ballet slippers): skin tone or pink ballet slippers in leather or canvas to match tights. Matching shoes and tights creates one visual “line” from the top of the leg to the tip of the toes! St. Paul Ballet recommends Grand Jeté on Grand Avenue in St. Paul for dance shoes.
Male identifying:
Top: Where your favorite plain t-shirt for summer classes. If you are purchasing dancewear the dress code for fall classes is a white crew-neck, short-sleeved, snug-fitting t-shirt.
Tights/Shorts: Opaque black tights OR Shorts with ankle socks: Black dance (bike) shorts and plain thin white ankle socks (no thick athletic socks)
Technique shoes: (soft ballet slippers): white or black ballet slippers in leather or canvas. Match black shoes with black tights or white shoes with white socks. Hair pulled neatly away from face and neck and secured so that it does not inhibit a dancer’s movement or serve as a distraction during class.

This class is classical ballet technique with a focus on developing movement vocabulary and staying connected to movement through the summer.

AGES 7-9: Elementary Ballet. Register for class in your age group. No placement or audition needed.

COMING TO THE STUDIO
If you do not feel well, please stay home.
ENTERING THE STUDIO
- Street shoes are to be stored in the cubbies outside of the studios. No street shoes on the studio floors.
- Bring your personal belongings into the studio. Please only bring the minimum items necessary for class—avoid large dance bags.
- Come dressed for class if possible. Bathrooms may be used for changing.
- Please use hand sanitizer or wash your hands before entering the studios.
