2024 August Study: Middle-Level & Auditions

Middle-Level August Sessions. Fall placement audition and registration Aug 10.

MIDDLE LEVEL ages 11-14
AUGUST SUMMER STUDY WEEK 1: August 5-9
AUGUST SUMMER STUDY WEEK 2: August 12-16
• Classical ballet technique
• Pre-Pointe/Pointe/Repertoire
Intensive weeks preparation for fall placement. LIVE accompaniment by our roster of professional musicians!

$155 per week  |  Mon-Thurs 4:30-6:30pm BOOK YOURSELF ON CALENDAR BELOW

SATURDAY, AUGUST 10th: FALL PLACEMENT CLASSES & REGISTRATION for all SPB dancers Levels 3-6 and new students who wish to enroll in the School-Year Program.
UPPER-LEVEL 12:00-2:00pm Technique and Pointe Class for Levels 4, 5, 6 of SPB and new students with more than 1-year of pointe experience. Ages 13-22.
MIDDLE-LEVEL 2:30-4:00pm Technique Class for Level 3 of SPB and new students with pre-pointe or less than 1 year of pointe. Ages 11+

Audition fee $20 for non-SPB students. AUDITION REGISTER BELOW

PLACEMENT: Please contact Christina Onusko, School Director at conusko@spballet.org to discuss which course is appropriate before registering if you are not a current St. Paul Ballet Level 3-6 student.

ANTHONY JONES, Teaching Artist – Ballet

Originally from Minneapolis, Anthony Jones began his early ballet studies at the Minnesota Dance Theatre & School followed by professional training at Canada’s National Ballet School and ultimately The School of American Ballet, where he studied on full scholarship under Stanley Williams, Andrei Kramarevsky, and Richard Rapp. He joined Seattle’s Pacific Northwest Ballet and was promoted to soloist after three seasons…more>

ERIN DRUMMOND, Teaching Artist – Modern

Erin is a director, artist and educator—carries over two decades of professional experience in performing arts as a dancer and choreographer. She cultivates creative inquiry through interdisciplinary and collaborative projects, ever turned on by embodied research as a catalyst for personal, societal and environmental shift. She trained at Ballet Arts Minnesota and Zenon Dance School before earning a BA from Columbia University and an MFA in Dance through Hollins University, in collaboration with institutions in Frankfurt, Germany. HELEN HATCH, Teaching Artist – Ballet

Helen Hatch is a dancer, choreographer and director based in Minneapolis. Named as one of Minnesota Monthly’s “10 Artists to Watch” in 2012, Helen was a member of Minnesota Dance Theatre from 2011-2017, dancing an eclectic range of repertory while also creating her own work. Since then, she has worked with various artists in the Twin Cities on projects as a performer, choreographer, and producer. KAYLIE BULLOCK, Teaching Artist – Ballet

Kaylie Bullock just moved to the area to join James Sewell Ballet. She recently completed her seventh season with Central Illinois Ballet as principal dancer. Kaylie received her early training at Kansas Dance Academy under the direction of Diane Gans. As a student she had the honor of being named a recipient of the Koch Cultural Trust. Intensive study to explore a variety of dynamic classes to expand your movement vocabulary.

$1,026 per 3 wks  |  Mon-Thur 12:00-4:30pm  |  4.5 hrs daily

TUITION REFUND POLICIES

Summer programs 2024 all ages: Tuition paid is non-refundable and non-transferable to another student or program. This includes classes that are cancelled for any reason or mandatory closures due to state and/or local mandates.
If a student must withdraw from the program due to prolonged illness or severe injury that prohibits their participation, verified by a doctor’s certificate, Saint Paul Ballet will consider an account credit option for tuition paid at the time of withdrawal.
